The End of One Era Begins a New One for FIB-AUSA

It’s hard to believe that your current chapter board is nearly 8 years old. They’ve managed to accomplish quite a bit in their time, from managing various events to helping out off post communities to our top priority: taking care of the soldier and making sure that very important voice is heard, from Europe to Washington DC.

So, it’s with great regret that the current board wishes to step down and retire. To say their help, assistance and guidance is invaluable is a severe understatement.

Most people that meet our chapter board members are quite shocked to realize that there is basically only one American: the current FIB President, Archie Smith, on the permanent board. We even get a chuckle out of it ourselves.

Our Board members, Cornelia Buchenrieder, Reinhard Hierl, Marianne Aponte-Quiones, and last but not least Peter Segerer are all local nationals who have been doing a tireless job handling the events and affairs of First in Battle’s day-to-day business. They are the ones behind the scenes making plans, organizing events, meeting with potential donation making organizations, consulting with Corporate Sponors, setting up tents and chairs, securing equipment and so many other things to help out.

All permanent members of the FIB Board are currently non-military, except for the FIB President. We are now seeking to change that because after all, this chapter, along with the AUSA is all about the Army. We feel that our board needs to be more military focused, so that we can understand the needs of today’s Army and what it is that the Soldier really wants from AUSA and the First in Battle chapter.

So we are currently seeking the following positions:

Military Representatives-people who know what their units want from their AUSA chapter and can clearly express their needs as well as promote the values of AUSA and the First in Battle Chapter.

Secretary - handles most of our office work and coordinates with all other board members and representatives.

Treasurer - handles all chapter related finances.

Legal Advisor - consults with the board on any and all matters for all events and chapter business.

Events coordinator

Reporters from all of our chapter footprint regions to send in news and events/photos for the chapter website.

All interested parties can contact us at fibsusa@gmail.com or call Chapter President Archie Smith at 0171-641-1351. We will also post a special button on our home-page for potential board members.

We Are Back!

ausalogo3

Welcome to the First in Battle chapter of the AUSA. Yes, we were down for about a week, due to over-loading our web host's poor server. Now all issues are resolved, and we can get back to providing you with the latest and greatest news and events about your AUSA chapter. Unfortunately, most of our data was lost, so we are once again re-building the site and photo galleries. But this also give us a chance to present things in a different way and offer our members the very best in the latest and greatest technology. Stay tuned for more info and site updates.
